I posted a gig request to help me make 15 multiple choice questions.

Request:

I’m looking for a writer to generate original multiple choice questions and answers from sources that I provide. I will provide a source of information, such as a web page (example: https://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/cipointernet-internetopic.nsf/eng/h_wr03652.html) as well as the number of desired questions from that source. Each question needs at least 4 plausible options. An example of the format I am looking for is shown in the attached spreadsheet. I would like to start with a small number of questions (about 15) so I can evaluate the writing quality. Please provide a price for 15 questions. Delivery Time - 7 days

I also included an excel spreadsheet with an example question to show the format I would like.

The responses I received were… less than impressive. You would think that someone bidding on a writing gig would take the 5 extra seconds needed to write a gramatically correct sentence with punctuation. But on Fiverr, anything goes!

An example of a good question is:

Result

The writer devlivered 10 questions and they were factually useable, but still needed to be rewritten to a more natural tone. It seemed like the person replying to gigs was not the same person doing the work, as the writing style was noticeably different.

Fiverr is puzzling to me. There seems to be thousands of writers available for hire, and they all seem to have done thousands of gigs with positive feedback, but based on my interactions with them I don’t see how they could have delivered a satisfactory product.

For my project, in the end I contacted a writer from the US through reddit and worked out a deal to have a couple hundred questions created. It worked out far better than fiverr.
